  • 100% SAFE & RELIABLE

Turn any Dakota Lithium battery into your mobile power station with this versatile and easy to use inverter. This professional grade Dakota Lithium inverter takes DC power (the power that comes from batteries or solar panels) and transforms it into AC power (your home’s wall socket). Multi function abilities include:

  • 2 x AC wall sockets plugs
  • 3 x USB charging ports 5V 2.1 A
  • 1 x Smart USB charging port 5V, 9V, or 12V 2.1A
  • 1 x Voltmeter & power LCD display screen
  • 1 x Alligator clips for connecting to batteries
  • 1 x Cig plug for connecting to your car

Rated at 300 watts, this inverter also has the ability to peak up to 600 watts for electronics like drills, drivers, or other tools that may need quick bursts of power. 300 watts is the perfect size for using and charging power tools at the job site, and for house hold electronics like laptops, monitors, small TVs, fans, radios, CPAP machines, lights, and small kitchen appliances. This inverter is a DL staff favorite because it is the optimal size for getting work done. Combined with a 23Ah battery it gave us the power to run a monitor, laptop, and phone charging at the same time. And when combined with a 54ah battery and a 50 watt solar panel installed on our truck’s roof, it provided an endless power supply for charging our power tools.

Please note: this is the smallest inverter in our catalog. For larger appliances like TVs, coolers, fridges, etc. we recommend the Victron Energy 1200 watt inverter. Or if you are building an off grid system for a living space, like an RV, boat, or cabin we recommend the Victron Multiplus 2000 watt inverter.

The minimum battery size for this 300 watt inverter is a 23 Ah Dakota Lithium battery or larger.

Frequently Asked Questions

Twice the Power?

Yes! Here at Dakota Lithium we build all of our batteries with lithium iron phosphate technology which has many distinct advantages over traditional batteries. Including 60% less weight, a charging speed that is up to 5X faster, and a significantly longer lifespan (5-10 years longer on average). One of the most noticeable advantages however is the flat voltage curve. Unlike a lead acid battery where the voltage drops as you use the battery a Dakota Lithium battery has a steady voltage for 99% of the battery's charge. That means you get all the power down to the last drop and double the usable power of traditional batteries.

Are Lithium Batteries Safe?

Dakota Lithium batteries are 100% safe & reliable. Our signature chemistry, Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4), does not contain rare earth elements (like Cobalt) or heavy metals, is non-toxic, including no lead or acid, is non-corrosive, does not off gas, requires no watering or maintenance, can be placed in any orientation, and unlike other lithium batteries will not explode or catch fire. In addition, each Dakota Lithium battery is protected from over heating, over charging, and short circuiting, by a battery management system (BMS) microchip that also extends the lifespan and is contained in a rugged, waterproof case (although enough water can conduct electricity between the terminals, so don't submerse the battery). For best performance & reliability we recommend using a LiFePO4 charger.

How do I charge a lithium battery?

Dakota Lithium batteries perform best when charged by a lithium compatible charger. Lead acid or SLA chargers, on-board chargers for AGM batteries, or other non-lithium chargers will charge a Dakota Lithium battery but only to 70-80% of capacity. This is because Dakota Lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) technology charges and is full at a higher voltage then traditional batteries (Dakota Lithium charges at 14.4 Volts). Chargers with a lithium battery setting or designed for lithium will charge at the appropriate voltage. See our full catalog of LiFePO4 battery chargers here. All batteries 54Ah and larger include a free LiFePO4 compatible charger. For troubleshooting tips download the Dakota Lithium battery user manual here.

Will cold weather affect my battery?

Your Dakota Lithium battery will discharge normally between a range of -20F and 120F (-29C to 49C). DL batteries are commonly used among ice fishers for their flashers and ice augers, so they are quite resilient and are frequently used in cold climates. In cases of extreme cold however, it is recommended that the batteries be insulated. We also do not recommend charging our batteries below freezing temperatures. If you are planning to regularly charge your battery below freezing temperatures we recommend the DL+ 12V 135Ah battery which has an internal heating element and is optimal for use in cars, trucks, RVs, off grid solar, and any application where the battery will be charged regularly in extremely cold environments (like a North Dakota winter).

Can I use this to start my car/boat engine?

Our DL+ line of batteries have 1000cca of engine starting power plus the same legendary deep cycle capabilities of all Dakota Lithium batteries. That means you can use them for starting a boat, car or truck engine. Our standard deep cycle batteries do not have this cold cranking ability and can not be used for a starting battery.

What Trolling Motor Battery Do You Recommend?

"Dakota Lithium is a proud sponsor of over 200+ professional athletes in the fishing industry. For a deep dive on trolling motor batteries read How to Choose A Lithium Battery for Trolling Motors"

What battery do I need for my RV or Camper Van?

The industry standard house battery size used in most RVs, Campers, and #VanLife builds is the DL 100Ah battery. This is a drop in replacement for AGM and most lead acid batteries. If you are charging off your engine's alternator we recommend a Victron DC-DC smart charger. If charging off solar panels we recommend a Victron Smart Solar charge controller, or if you have a solar charge controller choose the lithium setting. A handy size chart for number of batteries needed by size of RV is available here.

WHAT IS AN INVERTER?This inverter will allow you to transform solar energy coming from solar panels, or stored energy coming from batteries into AC power, the power that you use in your home. This allows you to plug any electronics that have an AC wall plug into this inverter.
INVERTER RATING12 Volts, 300 watts rated, 600 watts peak. For use with 12V batteries to power anything that uses AC power (the power in your wall socket)
LCD DISPLAY SCREENVoltmeter and power
MULTI-FUNCTION2x AC wall socket plugs, 3x USB charging ports 2.1A, 1x Smart USB charging port 5v, 9v, 12v 2.1A
TERMINAL CONNECTIONSBinder post terminals. Wiring harness with ring terminals plus alligator clips for connecting to a battery, and a cig plug for connecting to your car.
OPTIMIZED FOR SOLAR ENERGYCompatible with solar panels. For higher efficiency we recommend using with a battery and a solar charge controller.
HOW DOES THIS FIT INTO MY OFF-GRID, HOME POWER SYSTEM?The inverter makes easy to use energy available from your batteries in the form of an AC wall plug. This is a small inverter, optimal for mobile offices, working remotely, constructions sites, or work trucks. The inverter connects to your Dakota Lithium batteries. If you are charging your batteries with solar panels you will want a solar charge controller. For real time data on how your system is performing you may want to add a smart shunt or a battery monitor which will tell you how much power your have available at any time.
RECOMMENDED BATTERY SIZEThe minimum battery size for this inverter is a 23 Ah Dakota Lithium battery or larger. Optimal size for a full work day is a 54 Ah Dakota Lithium battery.
WHAT SIZE INVERTER DO I NEED?Please note, this is the smallest inverter in our catalog. For larger appliances like TVs, coolers, fridges, etc. we recommend the Victron Energy 1200 watt inverter.
