What types of materials can the Workman mix?

With its advanced unique drum and paddle design, the Workman can mix concrete,mortar,stucco, or different types of aggregate grouts. The material can be pre-bagged or field mixed. The ratio for a great batch of concrete is 3 parts aggregate, 2 parts sand, and 1 part cement.

How much material can the Workman mix in 1 batch.

The Workman 250 can mix up to 6 cubic feet of material. The Workman 350 can mix up to 9.5 cubic feet of material.

What is the difference between drum capacity and batch output?

This question has been around since barrel mixers were invented. The drum capacity of a barrel mixer is measure with the drum in a vertical position. The actual mixing position is about 45 degrees between vertical and horizontal. This maximum effective mixing position reduces the drum capacity and the amount of material that can be properly mixed and this amount is known as batch output. It is usually between 2.5 and 3 cubic feet less than total drum capacity

How fast does a batch of material mix in the Workman?

The unique drum and paddle design of the Workman gives the fastest and most complete mixing action of any mixer on the market today. Complete mixing times from start to finish of under 3 minutes are achievable.

Is there a movable lock on the Workman dump wheel

The Workman has a unique advanced auto stop dumping mechanism. This advanced design requires no external lock and allows the operator to choose any position to discharge material from the drum by just stopping the dump wheel in the desired position. This allows for infinite control of the amount of material dumped at one time.

Does the Workman come with a gas or electric motor?

The Workman is available with either gas or electric motors. The gas motors available are 5.5hp Honda or 6hp Subaru. The electric motor is a heavy duty 1.5hp Leeson electric motor that can be wired for 110v or 220v operation

Does the Workman come with a ball hitch for towing?

The Workman is built with a hoop pintel end on its removable tow bar. To allow for towing options, it is shipped with a heavy duty 2" ball hitch adapter bolted onto the loop end of the tow bar.

Do all 4 support legs of the Workman need to be in the down position before starting to mix.?

For the safest and most stable mixing platform possible, it is recommended that all four support legs of the Workman are lowered into place and the wheels raised off the ground before loading and mixing.

What regular maintenance is there to do on the Workman?

There is very little regular maintenance to do on the Workman other than occasionally tightening the drive belts as they stretch with use. Most bearings are sealed and there is no large noisy external crown gear to grease.

Is the Workman drum removable and replaceable?

The Workman drum is both removable and replaceable because of its unique design and single gearbox attachment point. By removing the T-Bolt the drum can be removed but must always be adequately supported by a minimum of two people or an overhead hoist.

How fast can you tow the Workman?

The Workman should never be towed over the posted speed limit and never over a maximum of 65mph. The machine should never be towed with material in the drum. When towing the support legs should always be in their highest stowed for transport position

How is the Workman shipped?

The Workman is shipped by truck line only on a heavy duty wood pallet
